“Zero Dark Thirty” Star Parker Sawyers Set To Play Barack Obama In Romance “Southside With You”

Parker Sawyers has joined the cast of the upcoming romantic drama SOUTHSIDE WITH YOU. He is set to play Barack Obama, alongside of Tika Sumpter, who will be playing Michelle Obama. Taking place before his terms as president, the film follows the true story of the first date between Barack and Michelle in 1989. It follows their night across the city of Chicago, where they went to see Spike Lee’s film Do The Right Thing, leading up to their first kiss outside of an ice cream parlor. Richard Tanne has written the screenplay, which he will direct.

Known for his role in Zero Dark Thirty, Sawyers has been seen in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit and Monsters: Dark Continent.

Sawyers is repped by 42 and NB Management.
