The Tracking Board and Coverfly Unite to Expand Opportunities for Emerging Writers!

The Tracking Board team is excited to announce our merger with Coverfly and the rest of the Red Ampersand family to expand opportunities for emerging writers and to facilitate talent discovery for the entertainment industry as a whole. The Tracking Board’s mission is to facilitate entertainment industry information sharing and to spotlight emerging talent and rising industry professionals.
Coverfly, a screenplay submissions platform used by most of the industry’s top writer discovery programs, is currently the largest free database of emerging writers’ screenplays. Coverfly is excited to announce that now its “Red List,” which aggregates from dozens of top screenwriting competitions, fellowships, labs and workshops, will be highlighted to industry professionals via The Tracking Board, which is accessed regularly by over 3,000 executives, agents, managers, and producers. This furthers Coverfly’s mission to provide industry access for emerging writers around the world.
The Tracking Board, which currently owns and will continue to operate the Launch Pad Competition, The Hit List (The Best Spec Scripts of the Year), The Young & Hungry List (The Top 100 New Writers of the Year), and The Spec Book (the annual book of spec market details, covering every spec screenplay, writer and representative in the market) will work in tandem with Coverfly to expand market coverage, industry access and opportunities for writers and industry professionals across all platforms.
The Tracking Board team also looks forward to collaborating with the other Red Ampersand teams, leveraging the great reputations, large audiences and industry relationships at ScreenCraft, The Script Lab, and WeScreenplay. Together these brands have helped more than 500 writers land representation with agents and managers, more than 60 writers get staffed on hit television shows, more than 160 writers see their projects set up with production companies, studios or networks, and more than 130 writers and projects land on annual “best of” lists such as The Black List, The Red List, BloodList, Brit List, Hit List and Young & Hungry List.
With this merger, all writers across all Tracking Board platforms will now have the opportunity to seamlessly utilize Coverfly, a free online web application that offers writers the opportunity to upload their scripts, create profiles, share their work, and allow their projects to be discovered in a searchable database of screenplays, loglines, and coverage. As part of the merger, both companies will work toward expanding each platform, marrying Tracking Board’s deep membership, industry tracking and up to the minute spec market awareness, with Coverfly’s popular platform which gives writers the opportunity to have their scripts discovered by industry professionals.
