When an aspiring comedian gets a job driving his famous but eccentric improv teacher, they develop a close relationship.

Sometimes, in the world of comedy, the student surpasses the teacher. Other times, like this one, the student becomes the teacher. Thus, Mike Myers is set to play his own comedy mentor, Del Close, in an upcoming indie movie simply titled Del.

Amandla Stenberg has scored the lead in the film adaptation of The Hate U Give, the debut novel from Angela Thomas. The YA novel is inspired by the Black Lives Movement and will be directed by George Tillman Jr.

The story follows Starr, a 16-year old girl who grows up in the slums but now attends an upper class prep school in the suburbs. When she witnesses a police officer shoot an unarmed friend, her world is turned upside down.
