Antonio Banderas has been tapped to star in the Simon West action comedy Salty based on the novel by Mark Haskell Smith.

Based on the fantasy short film companion piece to Star Wars, the story follows a knight as he journeys deep into the dark underworld with the daughter of a rival king, to meet the face of evil itself and fight the Black Angel in combat.

Logline: A modernization of the classic western in which the Cowboys are a struggling local amateur soccer team, the Indians run a nearby Tandoori restaurant and the bandits are a group of menacing thugs led by a maniac known simply as ‘American Bob’.
