Culture Creative is out with THE HORROR EXPERIENCE by Joseph Muscat. When a teenage girl escapes Mr. Mephisto’s clutches, she finds herself hunted by a killer.
“Without the extensive buildup of backstory [from the book], Art3mis essentially loses her own storyline and purpose and, in doing this, Artemis’ sole purpose becomes a visual totem used as fodder for the obsessive male gaze,” writes Sabrina Cognata.
“There’s one sequence here that Spielberg to pay tribute to not one but two artists he adores, and he recreates a specific film to such a startling degree that it made me dizzy. It is stunning work, and even now, a few days later, I can’t really believe what I saw. That’s one reason I consider Spielberg the greatest commercial filmmaker of all time,” writes Drew McWeeny.
The trailer is set to a cover of “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, which is a fitting pair for a film about entering a fully immersive video game.
