Best-selling fantasy series The Kingkiller Chronicle has added The Librarian’s John Rogers to write and executive produce a pilot for Lionsgate’s television adaptation. He joins previously attached Lin-Manuel Miranda who is producing and composing original music.

The popular ’80s action series Magnum P.I. starring Tom Selleck is making a comeback complete with Hawaiian shirts and probably less mustache. ABC has picked up Magnum from Eva Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment and John Rogers. The new series will serve as a female-driven sequel to the classic series, following Magnum’s daughter Lily.

Logline: Pitched as a female Jason Bourne, the story of a young female British operative who gets targeted for assassination and used as bait by the British government.

Logline: Story follows the world’s highest paid assassin who, in an attempt to find peace away from violence, is brought out of retirement when an old rival kills one of his good friends.

Logline: Humans are scattered on planets throughout the galaxy, living under the rule of the Galactic Empire. A psycho-historian who can scientifically read the future sees an imminent empire collapse, and sets to work preparing to save the knowledge of mankind.
