Common has joined Leavey, the Iraq war biopic starring Kate Mara, Edie Falco and Tom Felton. The story is based on Iraq war veteran Megan Leavey and her combat canine Rex.

Nurse Jackie star, Edie Falco, has been cast opposite Kate Mara in the indie biopic Megan Leavey to be directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite. Falco will play “Jackie” in the film, Megan Leavey’s mother. The film tells the story of Leavey and her military combat dog Rex, who saved countless lives from 2004-2006 searching for roadside bombs.
Centers on US Marine and Purple Heart recipient Megan Leavey, who spent six years cutting through bureaucratic red tape to adopt her dog Rex after they were both injured whilst disarming an IED in Iraq.
Penned by Spencer Mondshein, the script was featured on both the 2014 Hit List and Black List. The pic follows an expert tracker who battles personal demons while on a mission to rescue his estranged older brother, who has vanished in the uncharted wilderness of the Northwest.
