Season 1, Episode 1 – In the series debut of Black Lightning, Jefferson Pierce is the principal of a successful high school but is forced to assume the alter ego he left behind when his daughters’ lives are at risk.

“I’m sure if I had done it in an origin story, you know what people would say? ‘Eh, it’s another fucking origin story,'” Salim Akil tells Tracking Board about his new CW superhero series.

The latest trailer showcases a little more of Pierce’s daughters, as they begin to uncover that superpowers run in the family.

The network’s newest DC superhero will make his debut following The Flash. Midseason return dates for all other shows have been revealed as well.

The actress will recur in multiple episodes and play the love interest to Anissa Pierce (Nafessa Williams).

James Remar and Damon Gupton are joining new CW comic book series Black Lightning as series regulars, executive producers announced during the show’s panel at the San Diego Comic Con Saturday.

This past television season, The CW premiered new series No Tomorrow, Frequency, Riverdale, and CBS series Supergirl joined the schedule for its second season. The network took a pretty similar approach with their choices this year with Life Sentence, Valor, Dynasty, and Black Lightning.
