Following Avatar 2 and Avatar 3, you’re going to get a three-year break from Pandora. Take a vacation! Read a book! But don’t make too many other plans, because before you know it, Avatar 4 will arrive on Dec. 20, 2024, and from there it’s only 364 days until Avatar 5 rewrites the record books on Dec. 19, 2025.

James Cameron is prepared to spend the next eight years of his life making four Avatar sequels, but what is the point in announcing release dates that filmmakers can’t make?

Josh Friedman, Amanda Silver, Rick Jaffa, and Shane Salerno will cowrite the three “Avatar” sequels with James Cameron.

Weaver will remain in the franchise, but may not play her original character.

This time he’s playing for keeps.

“Get pumped or get lost chump!” is what I imagine he’ll say to people who don’t like this news.

Yo dawg, I heard you liked “Avatar” so I took your Avatar and mixed it with Avatar and threw on two more Avatars.

So hopefully he won’t be bringing that plot point up again.
